In October 2022, I was home from Chicago for my friend, Shideh's, wedding weekend. On that Friday night, I was mindlessly swiping on Hinge when I stumbled upon Matts profile. As I scrolled through his pictures, thinking he was cute, I noticed I knew one of the friends in his pictures: Ryan Rutledge. Being that I was only home for 2 days, I thought whatever - Ill just swipe right & see what happens.

We did end up matching & exchanging a few messages - really only talking about how we knew Ryan. I knew him through work at Medline; Matt knew him since grade school, still one of his best friends.

Matt ended up asking to take me out the next time I was in town. So, over the next couple months, I would reach out to him when I was around, only to have him blow me off & say he was too busy to see me. (lol)

Fast forward to January 2023, I was in San Diego for a work conference & was talking with Rutledge. He asked what happened between me & Flohre - I reported nothing, he keeps turning me down. (again - lol) That night, Ryan called Matt & (from what Ive gathered), knocked some sense into him.

I came back to Dayton for work that February & Matt actually met me for dinner! We immediately clicked & have been together since! Initially, we did long-distance while I still lived in Chicago until November 2023 when I took a territory in Cincinnati (thanks to the help of Ryan) which allowed me to move to Dayton & in with Matt.

The last 1.5 years creating our little life in Dayton together has been so fun and we cannot wait for the next chapters to come!
